001. Broken (Alicia Spinnet and Theodore Nott)
He had never seen her like this. She was always full of energy; always laughing and enjoying life with her friends. But her friends were gone, either imprisoned or dead. She was left in a cell, wondering and waiting until they finally drug her into their interrogation office. He wasn't suppose to be there. He had no intention of being there, had promised her he wouldn't let this happen. He wasn't sure how, but he would certainly do his best.

He couldn't speak, could only stare. She had lost weight from a lack of food, her hair was stringy and limp and her eyes were clouded and dull. He stepped back, keeping quiet as the questions started. She refused to answer, keeping quiet and staring hard at the smudged window in front of her. Another question and she still answered with silence. Even with the looming threat of Cruciatus...or worse wouldn't get an answer out of her.

He watched her carefully, watched her refuse to give in. He watched her refuse to cry, refuse to cringe in pain, refusing to give any of them the satisfaction of watching her break and collapse under them.

It wasn't until they called him over to finish the interrogation as they left the room that he looked down at her. It was then, as he saw the tears slowly sliding down her dirty cheeks that Theodore realized just how broken Alicia Spinnet had already become.
